How do I set up a Routine in Peekaboo?

By · Updated

Short answer

Open Routines with ⌥⇧⌘K, pick a template or write the task as a sentence (“move screenshots older than 30 days to the Trash”), then choose when it runs: on a schedule, when Peekaboo opens, or when a file arrives in a folder. Every run appears in Activity with Put Back.

Steps

  1. 1Open Routines.⌥⇧⌘K
  2. 2Pick a template, or write what it should do as a sentence. Anything it didn’t understand is pointed out.
  3. 3Choose when it runs: a schedule, at launch, or when a file arrives and has finished downloading.
  4. 4Check Recent Runs, and put back anything you didn’t want.⇧⌘Y
  • A routine can move, organize, tag, move to the Trash, notify you or Clean Safe Items.
  • Routines run while Peekaboo is open. Add it to System Settings › General › Login Items to keep the schedule.
  • Shortcuts can run any routine with the Run Routine action.
  • Nothing runs until you add a routine, and nothing is ever deleted outright.
