Macs with Apple Intelligence on macOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on. The app explains plainly when it isn’t ready yet.

It can plan a move to the Trash, which asks you once more before running and can be put back. It never deletes permanently.

What it does

A plan, not a surprise: Every step and every file is listed before anything happens. Trash steps ask once more. Nothing runs on its own.
On your Mac, not a server: It runs on Apple’s on-device Foundation Model. File names, sizes and the app’s own summaries are all it reads, and nothing leaves your Mac. It never reads keys or passwords.
Does real work: Move, rename, bulk rename, make folders, organize, zip, move to the Trash, set up a Routine or Clean Safe Items, using the same tools as the rest of the app.
Every step undoable: Each step is its own session in Activity and a ⌘Z step. From Quick Search, ⇧↩ hands it whatever you typed.

3Press Run. Undo any step from Activity.⇧⌘Y

When another app fits better

The Assistant needs macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence on a supported Mac; elsewhere the page isn’t there, and the plain-English search, which runs on every Mac, does most finding jobs. If you want a chat model that answers questions about what’s inside your documents, a cloud assistant reads more, at the cost of uploading them.
