Privacy policy

Short version: your files never leave your Mac. Last updated 2026-11-10.

What the app does with your files

Peekaboo reads file names, metadata (size, dates, kind, “Where from”) and, for images and PDFs, the text inside them. All of that happens on your Mac using Apple’s frameworks (Spotlight, Vision). The index it builds is stored in your user Library and is deleted when you delete the app.

Nothing about your files — names, contents, thumbnails or counts — is ever sent anywhere.

What the app sends over the network

Purchases

Payments are handled by our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record and receives your name, email and payment details. We receive your email and license so we can send and restore your key. We never see your card number.

This website

This site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent) for security for a short period.

Deleting your data

Delete the app to delete the local index. To have your purchase record removed, email support@getpeekaboo.app and it will be done within 30 days, except where tax law requires us to keep an invoice.
