Why are Desktop, Documents or Downloads empty in Peekaboo?
By Vishva Variya · Updated
Short answer
macOS asks once before Peekaboo can open each of these folders. If you chose Don’t Allow, it won’t ask again, so the folder stays empty and Peekaboo says so. Turn the folder on for Peekaboo in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Files and Folders, or turn on Full Disk Access, which includes all three.
Steps
- 1Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Files and Folders.
- 2Find Peekaboo and turn on Desktop Folder, Documents Folder and Downloads Folder.
- 3Back in Peekaboo, Settings › Library › Folder access shows each folder as allowed.
In Settings
- Folder accessSettings › Library
- Whether macOS lets Peekaboo open Desktop, Documents and Downloads, and where to turn one back on.
- Full Disk AccessSettings › Library
- Optional. Lets Peekaboo include every folder.
