What lowers Peekaboo’s Mac Health score?

By · Updated

Short answer

Low free space on the startup disk, memory pressure, a busy processor, heat and, on laptops, a worn battery. Points come off in fixed bands, so the same Mac always scores the same, and every reason has a sentence and a button that goes to the fix.

Steps

  1. 1Open Mac Health.⌥⇧⌘H
  2. 2Read the reasons the score isn’t 100.
  3. 3Click the button beside a reason: Clean Up, Disk Usage, Memory, the busy apps or Battery settings.
  • A reading every five minutes while the app runs, kept on your Mac for a week. Skipped in Low Power Mode or on a low battery.
  • Startup Items (⌥⇧⌘L) and Memory (⇧⌘P) sit alongside it.
  • Shortcuts gets the score and its reasons with Get Mac Health.
