What does “Allow permanent removal” do in Peekaboo?
By Vishva Variya · Updated
Short answer
It lets Free Up Space remove things that can’t go to the Trash: Xcode simulators and runtimes, Homebrew apps, package-manager tools and local Time Machine snapshots. It’s off until you turn it on in Settings › Cleanup › Allow permanent removal, and items removed this way can’t be put back.
In Settings
- Allow permanent removalSettings › Cleanup
- Lets Free Up Space remove things that can't go to the Trash: Xcode simulators and runtimes, Homebrew apps, package-manager tools and local snapshots.

How do I contact support?
- Email support@getpeekaboo.app. It goes straight to the developer. Settings › License › Copy Support Info adds your app and macOS version, with the license key hidden.
