QSpace Pro alternative: Peekaboo vs QSpace Pro
By Vishva Variya · Updated
QSpace Pro is a budget multi-pane manager: twelve layouts in one window, more than twenty server and cloud types, a Stash Shelf, regex batch rename and file hashes. The Pro edition lists at $29.99 and was on sale for $13.99 when we checked, with extensions such as Server Connections priced on top. Peekaboo doesn’t arrange folders at all. It’s a library and search app for the moment you can’t remember which folder to open in the first place.

Why pick Peekaboo over QSpace Pro?
Describe it, don’t lay it out
QSpace Pro puts several folders on screen so you can browse them together. Peekaboo takes “zips bigger than 1 GB older than 6 months” and turns it into chips you can correct, wherever those zips live.
Hashes that do something
QSpace Pro shows MD5, SHA or CRC32 for a file you pick. Peekaboo hashes your folders with SHA-256 to find exact copies, adds look-alike photos through Apple Vision, and tells you what the spares are worth.
Disk answers in the same app
Space Map, Disk Usage and the App Uninstaller show where the space went and win it back, and any cleanup can be restored from the Undo timeline.

The honest verdict
If you want lots of folders visible at once and server mounts for well under $30, QSpace Pro is the better buy, and it runs back to macOS 10.15. Peekaboo needs macOS 14, has no panes and doesn’t touch remote storage. Choose Peekaboo when the hard part is finding the file or freeing the space, not arranging the windows.
QSpace Pro vs Peekaboo: questions
Are server connections included in QSpace Pro?
- Not in the base price. Its pricing page lists Pro “without extensions” and sells Server Connections, Advanced Batch Rename and Stash Shelf separately, as of November 2, 2026.
Does QSpace Pro have a free trial?
- The Pro edition sold on its site has a 30-day trial and can be used on up to two devices. The Mac App Store edition has no trial, according to the same page.
Can Peekaboo show two folders side by side?
- No. Peekaboo has no panes and no column view. Two Finder windows or QSpace Pro handle that, and Peekaboo sits next to them for search and cleanup.
